Misconceptions of Obama Fuel Republican Campaign...Sike
I was sent this video from a friend and was struck with some apparent propaganda from the AlJazeera English subscription on YouTube. I wasn't surprised to see Senator Barack Obama seen with such blind eyes. However, I found much more interestingly, that this video was broadcasted by AlJazeera. These were white working class people speaking twisted facts or either total fallacies about The Obama Campaign in Ohio. I'll take the time to make the record straight for my midwestern neighbors. Senator Barack Obama is not a Negro, he is African American. He is not of the Muslim faith, he is Christian. He certainly could not be anti-white, for instance, he is bi-racial with a White mother and African father. Bill Ayers...read something. I'd rather not address any other hateful statements that these ohio residents made. Furthermore, these are the voters gravitating towards Governor Sarah Palin. One resident said Obama thought that they were white trash. No, just a bit ignorant maybe. The reporter closed in pinpointing that hate and fear are driving force in American Society. The broadcast sent a anti-American message, if watched by Middle Eastern viewers. The report was clearly anti-McCain while the message was somewhat pro-Obama. In Any event, I found this video interesting. Have a share...Wicked

"Domo is described as "a strange creature that hatched from an egg." Domo's favorite food is Japanese-style meat and potato stew, and he has a strong dislike for apples, due to an unexplained mystery in his DNA. Domo-kun is known to pass gas repeatedly when nervous or upset."

Music Makes You Lose Control
An Economist's Wet Dream
What we can take away from the situation that is most important and that would effect young people is the lack of credit availability in the market. Banks do not trust each other, so there is less money for lending. Less money for lending means that auto financing and mortgage approvals are down in conjunction with credit card interest rates being up. This all sounded like a bunch of jibberish to me until I understood that things like this affect your ability to get a car, to afford a credit card, and most importantly to get a student loan to pay for college. That's scary because higher education is expensive and continues to be on the rise, so it may decrease one's opportunities for its pursuit later on. To quickly address derivatices, they are basically investments derived from other credit-market instruments, like backing up securities with mortagages; thus, it is easy to see how when sub prime mortgages are dealt out at high rates when people actually can't afford them, the foundation is unstable and the institution can come crumbling down as it did.
With more homes being dumped onto the markets because of foreclosures, property taxes and revenue decrease, and there is less money for the things property taxes support like education and local expenditures; these revenue losses ultimately result in job loss. Credit is what this country was founded and survives on, and its absence is like the lack of oil in a machine. Until credit markets rebound and people are able to attain it, pressure on the economy will continue to mount.
To bring my point home, laissez-faire conservatives such as presidential candidate John McCain would like us to believe that this downturn is a self-correcting phenomenon; the fact is credit cannot just appear like out of thin air. In my opinion consumer-based fixes, rather than a 850 B bailout package for corporations are needed, and these approaches are likely to be supported by an Obama Administration. The bailout is being added to the national debt (which now looks to be at about 5 trillion dollars, increased by 2/3's over the past 3 weeks), and many conservatives would complain that they shouldn't have to bear the responsibility for taxes that would be used to help people stay in their homes; this is the attitude that got us into this mess. By helping people who are facing foreclosures, we will indeed see a long-term return on those expenditures.
Look, I've never been into economics and all those things that have to do with numbers; like NRM I would venture to say that I have been afflicted with discalculia. BUT, the greater consequence of this situation means that the gap between the rich and the poor will only grow and social programs will have to be cut. Interestingly enough, the economic crisis has helped Obama in states that otherwise wouldn't have been in contention. In the words of my great friend Montana, "Who'd a thunk a financial crisis would help middle America to get over its racism".

The Lies We Should Refuse to Believe.
This post is in response to the last one, "The Lies We Told Our Daughters", a very enlightening piece that begs the companionship of a female perspective. I think there are alot of collective ills that we can blame on society, and while I will undoubtedly keep Blackmon's words in mind in my future dealings with the opposite sex, I refuse to believe that man's lack of commitment and frequent inability to remain monogamous is the result of society. This is probably the only I time I will do this but I would agree with John McCain's philosophy in this case that it's greed. IF society has indeed groomed men to be greedy than hey I can't do anything about that and I don't consider it my problem, but society aside, truth be told alot of these dudes are just out here triflin.I'm not sure if he mentioned that lesson #3 in "how to be a man in society" was about how to act foolish, maybe I missed that. Look, it's really not difficult to establish a solid base for commitment and a great relationship that follows. Be up front; if you're not feeling it just say so. Don't lie (I don't buy Liar Liar Pants on Fire). I repeat, don't.lie. Don't be an asshole, and don't be triflin, cause you know when you're doing it. Guys always act like women are soooo complicated and soooo hard to figure out and want sooo much from them. We're really not but in the case that it's true it's because we deserve it and if you can't produce just say so, as for being a conquest that just sucks so I don't know what to tell you. I really do believe that girls mature faster than boys, hence the reason why at the point where a chick might be looking for a commitment the dude is still on the hunt (like society told him to be). Society my ass, just grow the fuck up! As a concluding response I would just say that when all else fails, just keep it moving until you find someone whose got their shit together because with all that social conditioning they're not about to get un-triflin anytime soon & like Pharrell & Slim Thug said, "keep it playa".

The Lies We Told Our Daughters
Yet another in a long list of female friends has asked me way men can’t commit. So I am gonna lay this out one good time, so if I am ever asked again I can kindly refer the young lady to anygivensomeday.blogspot.com.
In short, the answer to the question is simple. From birth men are thought to hunt. We are told the world and everything in it is yours to conquer including women. My son, you have been craved in the image of you father and of his father and so on and so forth to God. We (men) all believe we are reflections of God himself.
When a man or boy comes home, to his family the first question after, “How have you been?” is “How have the girls been treatin you?”. This is asked not only by the men in his life but by the women as well. Mothers and Fathers instill this within there sons. Extended commitment can rarely be given until a man in his heart feels he has conquered as much as he can. Honestly, I believe no man can ever be fully satisfied with himself; he knows there is always more out there.
Now, to the lie. Women are told, encouraged and pushed onto this ideal that they must find a partner at all cost. My daughter, you are but a half you must find he who completes you. Don’t let him go. Like him, then love him and by no mean let him go. Commitment has always been in baby girls mind, but why? Simple, mothers are simply reverberating what they have always been told. Fathers, and this is the far more interestingly, know, they know what they have been told and what they told their sons and they know the hunter is out their and it would pain them to see their daughter be but a conquest.
I am sorry my girl, for I to shall lie to you.

Baby Gap Shits
I have this crazy flaming liberal public policy professor who is quite insightful albeit vulgar..anyways my point is that the overarching theme of the class is that we're supposed to step out of our comfort zones as ideologues and use facts to attempt to solve present day issues of public policy. Take the financial crisis, for example: You have Republicans who have always been advocates of free markets and that the government should keep their hands out of Americans' business yet that attitude (of the Bush Administration) and deregulation are what have us in the mess we're in. Now, despite any and every piece of evidence that points to the contrary, many would like to allow the free market to sort out all of this mess and furthermore haven't an inkling to admit that those concepts have only worstened the crisis. Plus we've got Sarah Palin out here like "Oh boy if we could only just get all the corrupt, greedy mfs on Wall Street out everything would be a-ok. You betcha!" Fool.
I always get to these points where I have to digress and circle back to my original intent so ima do that right about.....now. Basically, I think I let my ideologies get in the way of the facts, and the truth is that I can't do it all. I don't think anyone can without having to make some types of sacrifices either personally or professionally. That doesn't mean that what we do actually decide to do won't be great- it probably will. Blackmon pointed out how fast 8 years goes by by comparing it to the fact that 8 years ago I was in 8th grade and has it seemed like 8 years since then; not really. Sometimes I do with I was back in the day when things were cool, but with age comes new responsibility and new opportunity and whether we like it or not there comes a time when you just gotta grow the f up.

Liar Liar Pants on Fire
So for the first time in a long time I got caught up in a lie. Nothing big, a no harm no foul type of thing. Instead of riding out the lie to the end I decided to fess up and own the lie.
Now, let ask the question, why do we lie and is it justified?
Personally, (I say this because I haven’t done the scholarship on the matter) I lie for both necessity and for shits and giggles. Often times I find that a given situation warrents a manipulation of the truth. You know one has to spare feelings from time to time. I am not speaking of telling someone they look nice when they don’t, that just pretentious bullshit. I am speaking of the situation when a simply lie can be the difference between crushing someone puny world and keep them floating. Other times, a few lies can keep me in good spirits as I watch peoples heads explode.
Controlling your life is key to you survival. Lying is one of those tools that we can use to do this. We all seem to operate on an individual basis, thus there crucial tools of manipulation become vital. But is this justified? I’d say only when it serves to your advantage. Is that morally right, no of course not, but one owes it to ones self to operate in his or her best interest right?

High Quality Bonds=High Quality Yields
I don't have much time, but I feel an urge to write about something that's been on the brain for a spell. I can't claim complete credit for the idea; it's from a Ben Stein Op-Ed in the NYTimes called "Lessons in Love, by Way of Economics", which also isn't that revolutionary of an concept to reasonable people. Despite my relative youth the notion of mates, marriage, family, life, etc. has been plauging my thoughts of late. One thing in particular that I would like to highlight is the process of choosing among members of the opposite sex in a manner that will yield the best results and acquisition of a scarce resource (in this case love) possible.
I'm going to discuss two types of boys; on one hand we have a traditionally Southern gentleman(?), perhaps, who would seek to make you into an effective housewife and child rearer while he leaves the house every day to conquer the legal world and make lots and lots of cash. Great. It is widely known that one of the main reasons why marriages fail is due to a lack of financial security, thus the key to wedded bliss is that comfort in knowing you don't have to argue over the cash, a concept made even rosier when there is one sole bread winner. A life like this would be greatly appealing to a vast array of women, especially when you factor in the bang for the buck and slower pace of life one could lead in the state where everything is bigger. He's nice and all, and sure he'll listen to you babble on about liberal ideology and how we can achieve a better world and affirmative action and feminism and equal rights but at the end he just nods his head and thinks about what a great subservient role you'll play in the relationship. It's been iterated to me lately that women should "know their role" in society, and utilize their intellect for things such as raising chilren in an effective manner, making sure the floor are sparkly clean, and making sure the toilet seat is clean after son 3 of 7 children aims it the wrong way and gets piss all over the wall. As for me, I have a starkly different idea of what my relationship with a mate will look like, which includes a New York Times (nice n' liberal) on the stoop every morning, an apartment with exposed brick walls (in a major metropolis), attending ALC yearly, working to alleviate educational inequality, and being bossy goddamnit.
On the other hand, let me briefly evaluate the mentality of another boy, he might be from the north-maybe. He can be rude, not very thoughtful crass, vulgar, call you a female-body-part, piss you off drive you insane and make you wish you'd never met him (this is a compilation of personalities that refers to no person in particular) BUT at the end of the day he loves your sass, confidence, intellect, passion, drive, focus, strong character and good heart. Odds are he probably can't wait to see what you're going to use that intellect to do in a career, admires your desire to to Teach for America while getting a Masters in Education, fucks with the CBC and places you in the top 25 percentile of women due to your confidence and ability to chill (oh yes).
In conclusion, I've found that the inherent difference is how these two starkly different case studies of men interpret the women's intellect; one would seek to suppress it and the other wouldn't mind unleashing it for good or evil. One pursues you to find a wife, put a ring on your finger and subject your body to ruthless pain and agony by being subjected to having 8 lb human beings rip through your vagina and eventually wind up looking terrible (I digress) and the other sees beauty in your ability to hold them down and keep them sharp; you might start to feel like becoming a feminist when dealing with ole boys' antiquated views, but I for one sure as hell wouldn't mind giving up my power for a fresh breezy who might know who Saadiq is, fucks with an SLR & sends zshares on the regular. All in all, in the words of Ben Stein, "Junk situations can look appealing and seductive, but junk is junk. Be wary of it unless you control the market".

Echo Boomers where art thou
What are we, what is our generation? No great war, just a shameful one. How will we be remembered by our children’s children? No great depression. Only a credit crisis/house crunch/bank failure. This belongs more so to our parent than to us. I’m speaking of what Wikipedia defines as the Millennials born between 1982 and 1994. More directly I’m speaking of what Wiki calls the Echo Boomers, my generation, born from 1987-1994. We are embedded with technology. Most of us have no memory of the Cold War. We came of age in the new millennium, but inherited the problems created by our forefathers; a planet that fucked, an economy that’s fucked, a government that fucked and most of all a society that sold its soul long ago. With that I wonder, what will be our legacy, who will be our hero’s, what will write our songs and poems, our great movies, what will be our great contribution. Or shall we become the new silent generation, worst still will we have a chance to do anything at all.

Why Didn't he get the witch in his own house of worshop
Before getting to the governor's favorite witchhunter, a little background on Palin's place of worship.
Sarah Palin attended the Wasilla Assembly of God. A place of worship where folding chairs rather than pews serve the needs of the congregation. - no word of any lounge chairs. The Assembly of God is a member of the pentecostal association of churches. Pentecostal worship can get lively, depending on the church - everything from the rattling of tambourines and wailing, to the indwelling of the holy spirit, a sort of trance state that results in the uttering of indecipherable gibberish - otherwise known as 'speaking in tongues'.
The minister of the Wasilla church, Ed Kalins, has an apocalyptic view of the world. He believes in so-called 'spiritual warfare', a theological concept that envisions a great struggle between darkness and light, good and evil. The big guy with horns and a strong scent of sulphur is always on the prowl looking to chalk up a win.
Kalins even manages to frame the Prince of Peace as a sort of 'warrior saviour': "I believe that Jesus himself operated from that position of war mode." Kalins' attempts to rationalize Jesus' "war mode" in a spiritual context, but when you look at his other statements from the pulpit it becomes clear that he is a shill for right wing ideology and that his views of Jesus have been severely compromised by his politics.
In 2004, Kalins questioned whether or not Americans who voted for John Kerry would get into heaven. He is also alleged to have said that any who criticized George Bush in the wake of the hurricane Katrina catastrophe would be banished to hell. This is really hokey stuff, but it's the type of primitive bible thumping Palin was obviously comfortable with, because she kept coming back for more.
But enough of Ed Kalins, and on to a more exotic character, who turned up on at least 10 occasions at the Wasilla church as guest pastor. Thomas Muthee is a Kenyan evangelist, famous for founding the the Prayer Cave, in Kiambu, Kenya, after God 'spoke to him'.
This is the same pastor Muthee who 'laid hands' on Sarah Palin when he visited her church in 2005. His Kenyan escapades leave little doubt that Muthee is a man in the grip of delusional thinking who sees demons lurking around corners and witches working their dark designs in order to bring about traffic accidents and such.
None of this though, put the least bit of a damper on Palin's glowing endorsement of the witchhunter. A Times article on her relationship with the pastor, quotes her as saying:
"And I’m thinking, this guy’s really bold, he doesn’t even know what I’m going to do, he doesn’t know what my plans are. And he’s praying not “oh Lord if it be your will may she become governor,” no, he just prayed for it. He said “Lord make a way and let her do this next step. And that’s exactly what happened.”
The childlike gullibility that comes across in these remarks isn't a trait most Americans would be comfortable associating with a candidate for the office of Vice President. With Palin in the White House who knows ... the witchhunter might drop in for overnights in the Lincoln bedroom. He could always work on getting rid of the resident spirit while hatching plans for Salem redux.
When pastor Muthee gave his sermons, Palin was preparing for her gubernatorial run. Muthee annointed her (no mention with what kind of oil) and she described his laying-on-of-hands as "awesome".
Alaska has a big future in the apocalypse business. Ed Kalins reckons the state will be the refuge for American evangelicals in the coming "End Days". Frankly I'd prefer to work on preserving the polar bears.

Shout Out to my mans
Your gonna have to forgive me, but I completely forgot this cats name. But what is important is this shirt. I met this guy in class today and I asked him about the shirt. He told me that this is his way of giving back. The shirt says, I RAQ Centless, whihc as you can plainly see has a double meaning. The Proceeds from the sales of this shirt will go to Hurricane relief in his homeland of Haiti. Streetlevel and grassroots movement alway catch my attention. I won't be buying a shirt, because my pockets aren't lined like that but I will break him off with a donation. I wish this guy much luck in his efforts.
Holy Hip-Hop!
Doesn't another guy do that? Yes, indeed, Kehinde Wiley is the poster boy of hip-hop portraiture. While Wiley is frequent visitor to hip-hop subject matter, Melamid's work focuses just on this set. Still, the comparisons are bound to continue as "Holy Hip-Hop!" continues to show. While on subject, read a review of Wiley's latest work (from the New York Times), here. An excellent, and accurate assessment....Wicked

Well well mankind
So it seems mankind is at the point where we need instant access to skin care ointments.(Proactiv vending machine) I found this today at a local mall and for some reason I could believe it, I don't know why I was so taken aback, I guess this fits in this rapid pace world of our. To me it seems this may be an indicator that prehaps our problem is we need everything at the touch of a button. Prehaps product like this wouldn't be needed if we took the time out to take care of ourselves. Stop with the FAST food and take time out with the simpiler finer things in life. Stop with the text and instant messaging, and take the time out to have a fulfilling conversation with some one. Let not forget that we are people and not machines.

Choke
Yes…
others works, (Rant, Fight Club, Survivor and Lullaby). He in my opinion is one of the best authors of the last fifty years, (not that a read to fuckin much or anything), but Palahniuk’s use of dark profane and often obscene humor reflect the underlying perversity of what our culture values. SO if Choke is of the same caliber of any of the other pieces, no one will the theater disappointed.
Black and Milds
Many ponder in this day in age why do I smoke Black and Milds? Why, Chuck why oh why are you killing yourself? My first response, typically is, I'm not trying to live forever. How ever it much deeper than that, for 60-75 cents I can at once take the edge off a day most often filled with trivial bullshit. For the 15-20 minutes I inhale that smoke I am at peace, I mediate and become closer to God, I think. The way I see it the three leading causes of death for Blacks in
Yikes!!
Munich has officially taken the wraps off of a new design study called the GINA Light Visionary Model, a creation BMW says shouldn't be thought of as "just another concept car," but rather "a whole new approach to automotive design."
With its GINA (Geometry and Functions In "N" Adaptions) model, BMW set out to explore the creative freedom that might be offered with future cars while using a traditional front-mounted eight-cylinder engine and rear-drive platform. The surface of the concept features a new fabric material that BMW says is highly resistant to expansion, durable, and flexible. Underneath the covering material is a light aluminum subframe that is moveable via electric and hydraulic controls, allowing the surface itself to be reshaped according to the owner's desire. The usual elements of production cars -- doors, wheel arches, a trunk lid, engine hood, and roof -- are not present in the conventional sense. Rather, the body consists of just four components: a front panel that leads to the edge of the windscreen, two side panels (one on each side of the car), and a rear deck panel.
Im prolly late as hell on this but...

------->>>Sick
This is called “Always to Dust” by Philly based artist AJ Fosik. I don’t pretend to know anything about art but I know dope when I see it. Fosik’s wooden animal sculptures definitely spark interests by taking familiar symbols and giving them a new intensity.
